Important safety notice for unisex watches in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of unisex watches (analog, mechanical/automatic, quartz battery-powered, and smart watches). Since they contain glass, small parts, a battery/electronics, and their water resistance is limited by the manufacturer’s specification, please follow the instructions below.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Keep out of reach of children: Small parts (crown, screws, battery cover) and glass can cause cuts or choking; the product is not a toy.
• Glass parts: Do not wear the watch if the glass is cracked or chipped; there is a risk of cuts and damage to the mechanism.
• Water and moisture: Respect the water resistance marking; “water resistant” does not mean suitable for showering/swimming unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.
• Heat, magnets, and shocks: Do not expose to extreme temperatures, strong magnetic fields, or impacts; this may reduce accuracy and damage seals.

Proper and safe use

• Crown and buttons: Do not operate them underwater; after setting, firmly press/screw the crown according to the type to maintain tightness.
• Water resistance in practice: Use only models with the appropriate marking for swimming and showering; after contact with salt water, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it.
• Sports and work: For impact/dirt activities, choose sports models or remove the watch; protect the glass and crown from hits.
• Smart functions and charging: Charge in a stable, ventilated place; do not cover the device during charging and do not charge it on the body.

Cleaning, maintenance, and storage

• Cleaning: Clean the case and strap with a soft cloth; rinse and dry metal parts, do not soak leather; avoid aggressive cleaners and acetone.
• Service: Entrust battery/seal replacement and pressure testing to a service center; consider professional service if mechanical accuracy decreases.
• Storage: Store dry, away from direct sunlight and magnetic sources; store smart watches long-term with approximately 40–60% charge.

Specific health warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel), surface treatments, and silicones may cause reactions; if redness or itching occurs, remove the watch and clean the skin.
• Skin hygiene: After sweating, clean and dry the skin under the watch; prolonged moisture may cause irritation.
• Implanted devices: Use strong magnetic clasps and charging coils according to doctor and manufacturer recommendations.

Disposal

• Ecological disposal: Do not dispose of electronic parts, accumulators, and batteries in household waste; hand them over to an electronic waste collection point. Sort metal/plastic according to local regulations.

Incidents and contact

• In case of an incident (cut by broken glass, skin irritation, water ingress into the case), immediately stop using the watch and seek service or medical help. Keep the product and proof of purchase for filing a complaint.
