Why trust us

  • Professional handheld VANTA VCA analyser (ED-XRF).
  • Years of in-house experience — we measure the composition of our own products daily.
  • Non-destructive measurement — your item will not be damaged.
  • For every measurement you receive a written protocol in PDF format.

What the method cannot do (honestly)

  • It is a surface method — the interior beneath a coating or gold plating may differ (risk of a false-negative result).
  • It is not an accredited laboratory and we do not issue a certificate — this is an indicative screening measurement protocol.
  • We see the element, not the specific compound (e.g. bromine yes, but not PBB/PBDE; chromium yes, but not hexavalent chromium).
  • XRF does not measure phthalates and organic substances — these require a different method.

Frequently asked questions

XRF (X-ray fluorescence) is a non-destructive method that determines which elements a material is composed of — from precious metals and alloy composition to hazardous heavy metals. The object is not damaged during measurement.
Yes, we can indicatively measure the surface purity of gold or silver. This is a surface measurement — a gold-plated fake with a genuine surface cannot be revealed by XRF surface measurement, so treat the result as an indicative screening, not an official verification of authenticity.
Yes, based on the ratio of metals (e.g. chromium, nickel, molybdenum) we can classify the type of steel. The exception is variants distinguished by carbon content (e.g. L/H) — XRF does not measure carbon.
We can determine whether the jewellery contains nickel and approximately how much. However, nickel release onto the skin is assessed by a separate test under standard EN 1811 — which we do not perform.
No. This is an indicative pre-filter ahead of an accredited test — it helps weed out clearly hazardous goods before placing them on the market. An accredited laboratory is required for official documentation of conformity.
After ordering and paying you will receive an e-mail with the address and instructions. Pack the goods so that they are not damaged in transit and send them to the given address.
A surface measurement determines the composition of the top layer. An interior measurement requires a prepared (cut / exposed) sample — we do not cut items, you must prepare the sample yourself.
Yes, if you choose a return method (pickup point or courier). The return cost is added depending on the country. Alternatively you can choose not to have the goods returned. If you select “I don't want the goods back”, the goods you send (the sample) will remain with us once the measurement is complete and their ownership passes to the provider — they will not be returned to you. By submitting an order with this option, you give your express consent to the transfer of ownership under the service's terms and conditions.
After measuring we produce a measurement protocol in PDF format and send it to you by e-mail. We keep you informed of progress, and you can view the current status at any time via the link from the confirmation. We will send you the measurement result within 3 business days of receiving the goods.

1. Operator and service provider

The service provider and controller of personal data is ETERNITY & SPARK, s.r.o., IČO (company ID no.) 46621903 (hereinafter the "provider"). The service is offered under the IZMAEL and HARAHU brands. The controller of personal data is always ETERNITY & SPARK, s.r.o., not the brand itself.

2. Subject of the service

The provider carries out an indicative surface screening measurement of the elemental composition of the delivered goods using the ED-XRF method and issues a written screening measurement protocol. This is an indicative method — the surface of the sample is measured. The output is indicative in nature and does not replace a laboratory determination or an official assessment of conformity with legal regulations.

We will send you the measurement result within 3 business days of receiving the goods.

3. Limits of the method

The method measures the surface and does not detect layers beneath a coating or finish (risk of a false-negative result). It does not distinguish chemical compounds (e.g. we see the element bromine, not the specific compound; chromium, not its oxidation state) and detects light elements less well. If the customer wishes to measure the interior of the material, they must deliver an already prepared (exposed) sample — the provider does not cut samples.

4. Price and payment

The price is paid in advance, either by bank transfer or by payment card. Cash on delivery is not available. With payment by transfer, the measurement and issuing of the protocol begin once the payment is credited. Any return of the goods is a separate item that forms part of the advance payment.

5. Items not accepted and packaging

The provider does not accept for measurement: hazardous, radioactive, biologically contaminated or health-harmful items; liquids, loose and powdered materials without a solid container; and items whose transport is prohibited or restricted by carriers. Knives and sharp objects (the HARAHU range) are subject to carriers' transport restrictions — they must be packed safely so that the blade does not penetrate the packaging, and must not be sent by a method that prohibits the transport of such goods. Parcels that breach these rules may be refused.

6. Return of goods after measurement

The goods remain the property of the customer throughout the measurement. Once the measurement has been carried out, the provider will return the goods by the method chosen by the customer in the order; the return fee applicable to the delivery country is included in the advance payment.

If the customer selects the option “I don't want the goods back” in the order, they thereby consent to the ownership of the delivered goods (the sample) passing to the provider free of charge upon completion of the measurement. From that moment the provider is entitled to store the sample, use it for its own testing and calibration purposes, or dispose of it in an environmentally sound manner; the customer is not entitled to any compensation for it. If the customer validly withdraws from the contract before the service has been fully provided, ownership does not pass and the provider will return the goods.

If the customer does not take delivery of goods that are to be returned to them – in particular if they do not accept the shipment, if it comes back as undeliverable, or if they do not collect the goods from the pickup point – the provider will store the goods and will promptly notify the customer of the non-acceptance. Within a period of 60 days from the date of the unsuccessful delivery or from the date on which the goods were returned to the provider (whichever of those dates falls later), which shall not, however, expire earlier than 30 days after that notification, the customer may request re-dispatch at their own expense or collect the goods. Once that period has expired without result, the provider is entitled to dispose of the goods in an environmentally sound manner.

7. Consumer's right to withdraw from the contract

A consumer (B2C) generally has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days under Slovak Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. With this service, before the measurement begins, the customer gives express consent to commencing the provision of the service before the withdrawal period expires and acknowledges that, once the service has been fully provided (the protocol delivered), the right of withdrawal ceases to exist under § 19(1)(a) in conjunction with § 17(10) of Slovak Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. If the customer withdraws during the measurement (before the protocol is delivered), they will pay a proportionate part of the price for the performance already provided (§ 21(5); judgment of the Court of Justice of the EU C-641/19). If the customer was not informed of the loss of the right, the withdrawal period is extended under § 20(3).

Slovak Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. does not apply to entrepreneurs (an order with a Company ID, B2B) — the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to them.

From 19 June 2026, a separate button for withdrawing from the contract under § 20a of Slovak Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. is available in the e-shop.

8. Protection of personal data

The controller of personal data is ETERNITY & SPARK, s.r.o. (not the brand itself). We process the data necessary to provide the service, issue the protocol, invoice and return the goods. Photographs of the delivered goods may constitute personal data; we process them only to the extent necessary to provide the service and keep records.

9. Liability and exclusion of warranties

Given the indicative and surface nature of the method, the provider does not vouch for completeness or for the measured surface values corresponding to the actual composition inside the material. The protocol serves solely for the customer's information, does not represent a promise of health safety or of conformity with standards, and must not be interpreted as such.

10. Final provisions

These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic, in particular Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. on consumer protection.
