GI-30169 Headband - Gold

Important Safety Notice for Headbands in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of headbands (textile, plastic, metal, with teeth, with wire, elastic, and decorative). Since they may contain small parts, springs, sharp edges, and exert pressure on the scalp, please follow the instructions below to prevent injuries and skin reactions.

Basic Safety and Handling Principles

• Keep out of reach of small children: Decorations, rhinestones, toothed inserts, and metal parts may pose a choking hazard; the product is not a toy.
• No sharp edges: Before use, check that the headband has no cracks, sharp ends, or loose decorations; do not use damaged products.
• Pressure and pinching: Do not stretch the headband forcefully; be careful to avoid pinching skin and hair when putting it on or taking it off.
• Strings and hanging decorations: Long decorations may increase the risk of catching; not suitable for sleeping or sports.

Proper and Safe Use

• Appropriate size and pressure: Choose a headband that holds without excessive pressure; prolonged tightness can cause headaches and hair damage.
• Placement: The headband must not restrict the field of vision or cover the ears in a way that impairs awareness of surroundings.
• Use by children: For small children, choose soft, one-piece models without small removable decorations and use only under supervision.
• Activities: For sports and play, prefer soft elastic headbands without hard parts; do not wear metal or hard headbands during sleep.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

• Cleaning: Wash textile headbands by hand with mild soap; wipe plastic and metal ones with a soft cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaners or soak for long periods.
• Maintenance: Regularly check seams, glued decorations, and end caps; tighten loose parts or replace the headband.
• Storage: Store dry, away from direct sunlight and high temperatures; do not put strain on headbands to avoid deformation.

Specific Health Warnings

• Allergies and sensitive skin: Some metals (e.g., nickel), adhesives, and dyes may cause reactions; discontinue use if redness or itching occurs.
• Hair damage: Constant pressure, teeth, and friction can lead to hair breakage; alternate the position of the headband and hairstyle.

Disposal

• Safe disposal: Render damaged headbands unusable so that sharp parts do not injure people handling waste; sort plastic and metal parts according to local regulations.

Incidents and Contact

• In case of an incident (choking on a small part, pinching injury, skin irritation), stop using the product immediately and seek medical help if necessary. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
