Fixed Blade Knives
Fixed blade knives are among the most reliable tools in any kit. Their construction without a folding mechanism guarantees maximum strength and durability, which you will especially appreciate when working in the field. Our range includes a wide variety of models, from outdoor and hunting knives to versatile work pieces. Each one is made from high-quality materials that ensure a long lifespan and excellent cutting properties.
How to Choose the Right Fixed Blade Knife
When choosing a fixed blade knife, it is important to focus on several key factors. The first is blade length – shorter blades (up to 10 cm) are suitable for precision work, such as carving or boning, while longer blades (over 12 cm) provide more power when cutting thicker materials, for example when chopping wood or for hunting use. The second factor is the blade material. Stainless steel, such as 440C or Sandvik 14C28N, is resistant to corrosion and easier to maintain, making it ideal for camping and fishing. Carbon steel, on the other hand, offers better sharpness and is easier to sharpen, but requires more care – it needs to be cleaned and oiled after each use to prevent rust. Damascus steel combines aesthetics with high hardness, which is appreciated by collectors and hunters looking for a knife with a unique pattern.
Handle Types and Their Ergonomics
The knife handle should fit comfortably in your hand and provide a secure grip even in wet conditions. Materials like G10, Micarta, or rubberized plastic are popular for their durability and non-slip properties – when working in the rain or during hunting, you will appreciate that the knife won't slip from your hand. Wooden handles made of walnut or rosewood, on the other hand, offer a traditional look and a pleasant feel, but require regular oil maintenance. When choosing, also consider the handle shape – anatomically shaped models with finger grooves reduce hand fatigue during prolonged use, for example when boning game or during carving projects.
Quality and Materials of Fixed Blade Knives
A high-quality fixed blade knife is an investment for years. Our range includes models made of Damascus steel, known for its aesthetics and excellent cutting properties. Damascus knives are popular among collectors and hunters for their unique pattern and high hardness – during hunting use, they retain their sharpness even when cutting through bone. Another option are knives made of 440C or Sandvik stainless steel, which offer excellent corrosion resistance and long-lasting sharpness – ideal for camping, where the knife often comes into contact with moisture. Carbon steel, such as 1095, is suitable for work knives where easy sharpening and high toughness are required – for example, when chopping wood or cutting ropes.
Sheaths and Accessories
We recommend a quality sheath for every knife, which protects the blade and allows for safe carrying. Leather sheaths are elegant and durable, suitable for hunting knives and collector's pieces – over time they develop a patina that enhances their aesthetics. Plastic or nylon sheaths are lighter and suitable for wet environments, for example for camping or fishing – they do not absorb water and are easy to clean. Some models come with a sheath included in the package, which simplifies the selection – check whether the sheath is equipped with a belt loop or Velcro for quick access.
Maintenance and Care of Your Knife
Proper maintenance extends the life of the knife and preserves its cutting ability. After each use, clean the knife of dirt and dry it – during hunting use, remove any blood or fat residue; during camping, remove sand and dirt. For stainless steel blades, mild soap and water are sufficient; carbon steel should be coated with a thin layer of oil (e.g., mineral oil) after washing to prevent corrosion. Regular sharpening is essential – use sharpening stones or steels designed for the specific type of steel. For carbon steel, we recommend a finer stone (1000–3000 grit); for stainless steel, a coarser stone (400–1000 grit) to restore the edge. Store the knife in a dry environment, ideally in its sheath, to prevent blade damage – avoid damp basements or garages where rust can form.

Important safety notice for fixed blade knives in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)
This is a targeted safety notice for the correct and safe use of fixed blade knives. Due to the sharp blade, fixed construction, carrying in a sheath, and use in the field, it is essential to follow the instructions below to avoid injuries and damage. The notice is issued based on the requirements of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety.
Basic safety and handling principles
- Keep out of reach of children: The knife is not a toy; there is a risk of cuts or punctures.
- Sheath and carrying: Always carry the knife in a secured sheath; when drawing and inserting, keep fingers away from the blade edge and point the tip away from the body.
- Inspection before use: Check the integrity of the blade, handle, guard, rivets, and sheath. Do not use a damaged or loose knife.
- Safe workspace: Cut on a stable surface, away from the body and other people; never try to catch a falling knife.
- Respect local rules: When carrying the knife, comply with local laws and restrictions.
Proper and safe use
- Use as intended: Designed for cutting suitable materials (food, wood, ropes). Do not use for prying, screwing, nailing, as a hammer, or chisel.
- Grip and cutting direction: Hold a firm grip; keep fingers out of the blade’s path. When carving, support the material and work in a controlled manner.
- Batoning and chopping: Perform only with knives designed for this and with proper technique; avoid contact with stone and metal. Do not use a damaged knife.
- Contact with food: After use on raw food, clean the knife immediately to prevent cross-contamination.
Cleaning, maintenance, and storage
- Cleaning: Wash by hand with mild detergent and dry immediately; do not place the knife or sheath in the dishwasher.
- Maintenance: Regularly sharpen and lightly oil the blade; check and tighten screws, treat wooden and leather parts according to the material.
- Storage: Store clean and dry, preferably outside the sheath for long-term storage, in a safe place out of children’s reach.
- Sheath: Keep clean and dry; replace damaged sheaths to prevent the knife from accidentally falling out.
Specific health warnings
- Injuries: If cut, stop work, clean and treat the wound; seek medical help for deep or bleeding injuries.
- Allergies and sensitive skin: Some alloys and maintenance oils may cause reactions; discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Disposal
- Safe disposal: Wrap dull or damaged knives in sturdy material (e.g., cardboard, blade protector) and dispose of according to local metal regulations to prevent injuries.
Incidents and contact
- In case of an incident (injury or other damage), stop using the product immediately. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint processing.
